What to Expect in Your First Medicare Appointment at Brickhouse

What to Expect in Your First Medicare Appointment at Brickhouse

If the idea of a “Medicare appointment” makes you nervous—don’t worry, you’re not alone.

A lot of people assume it’ll be like visiting a call center: fast, salesy, and overwhelming. At Brickhouse, it’s the opposite. Your first Medicare appointment is just a conversation—no obligation, no pressure.

In this post, we’ll walk you through exactly what happens when you book a free Medicare consultation with us, and what comes next if (and when) you’re ready to move forward.

Step 1: Schedule Your Free Medicare Consultation

You can book online through our appointment page, where you’ll choose a convenient time to meet by phone or Zoom. It’s free, there’s no obligation to enroll, and you’re not signing up for anything.

Once you book, you’ll get a confirmation with the date and time—and we may send you a short list of things to gather beforehand (like your current coverage info or medications), but nothing formal is required.

Step 2: Your First Appointment – No Pressure, Just Clarity

This is a discovery conversation, not a sales pitch. We take the time to get to know you and your situation. Common topics we’ll cover:

  • Are you already enrolled in any part of Medicare?
  • Are you still working or planning to retire soon?
  • Do you take any medications regularly?
  • What kind of doctors do you see—and do you want to keep seeing them?
  • What’s most important to you: low premiums, flexibility, predictability, or something else?

We’ll also explain:

  • The differences between Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement plans
  • How Part D works and what to consider
  • Whether you’re at risk for any late enrollment penalties
  • What timelines and windows apply to your situation

You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of what your options look like—and what your next steps are.

Step 3: If You’re Ready—We’ll Schedule a Second Appointment

There’s no pressure to decide anything during the first call.

If you want to move forward, we’ll book a second appointment—usually called the enrollment meeting—where we:

  • Review personalized plan options (based on your preferences, providers, and budget)
  • Walk you through quotes and side-by-side comparisons
  • Answer final questions
  • Help you enroll if and when you’re ready

We don’t work for any one insurance company. We work with many major carriers and tailor recommendations to your needs—not ours.

We Know Medicare Decisions Can Feel Overwhelming

You’re not expected to understand it all after one conversation—and we never expect you to “figure it out” on your own. Our job is to educate and guide you, not rush you into a decision.

Whether you’re turning 65, still working, helping a parent, or switching plans—we’re here to make Medicare feel less like a guessing game and more like a smart, confident move.
